Snake Plant

Sansevieria snake plant
The Snake Plant, or sansevieria, is one of the easiest and most forgiving house plants around! This hardy plant, sometimes referred to as a mother-in-law's tongue, almost thrives on neglect. Choose a snake plant when you need a plant for that low light spot of your home, or when you tend to be forgetful when it comes to watering. These plants are teriffic at purifying the air, too!
Low to bright, indirect light
Water thoroughly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between watering.
Prefers average home temperatures
Use a fast, well-draining soil mix since these plants don't like to be kept soggy. Great plant for a shady area outdoors where the temperature is above 40°F.
Toxic to pets
Difficulty Level: Easy
Varieties grown and sold at Urban Garden include Sansevieria Laurentii, Sansevieria Fernwood, Sansevieria Starfish, and Sansevieria Zeylanica.
