Succulents are tough plants from many different species with thousands of varieties, but all refer to the fact that these plants store excess water in their leaves and can withstand periods of drought. Widely used in the landscape, succulents make fabulous house plants, as well.

Water thoroughly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between watering.
Prefers average home temperatures; many varieties may be grown outdoors
Fertilize monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer at the recommended rate. Use a fast, well-draining soil mix since these plants don't like to be kept soggy.
